FREMONT, NEB. -- Augustana men's tennis was able to come away with a split on the road Saturday. The Vikings started with a loss to Midland before handily defeating Done. Augustana is now 3-2 on the season.
Match One - Midland 4, AU 3
The Vikings were unable to come away with the doubles point but doubles duo of senior Logan Barr and freshman Cade Damgaard were able to grab a 6-4 victory.
In singles action, Damgaard took the win in No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-1. Junior North Knewtson in No. 5 singles (7-6, 3-6, 10-7) and freshman Tyson Cowger in No. 6 singles (6-1, 6-4) were also able to come away with victories.
Midland is 5-4 in dual action on the season.
Match Two - AU 6, Doane 1
The Vikings were able to bounce back from the loss, taking the doubles point. The Duo of Barr and Damgaard won their session 6-1. No. 2 doubles comprised of junior Eden Mrozek and freshman Tory Shafer won 6-2. Knewtson and sophomore Jakson Stoutamire rounded out No. 3 doubles in a 6-1 win.
In singles action, five of six vikings bested their opponents. Beginning with Damgaard repeated at No. 2 singles winning 6-0, 6-2. Stoutamire captured No. 3 singles in 6-2, 6-2 fashion. Knewtson won No. 4 singles 6-3, 6-2 while Cowger defeated his opponent in No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0 as senior Frank Kelly followed through with his own 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 6 singles.
Doane is now 4-2 in dual action this season.

The Vikings travel to St Peter, Minnesota, on Saturday, Feb. 29 for dual-matches against Grinnell and Gustavus Adolphus. The Vikings face Grinnell first at 4:30 p.m. and Gustavus Adolphus at 7:30 p.m.
