St. Peter, Minn-- Augustana women's tennis team bested Southwest Minnesota State 7-0 Saturday. The Vikings improve to 10-0 on the season and 7-0 in NSIC competition.
All three teams for doubles came away with wins against their opponents. Sophomore Laura Arce Vieyra and junior Grace Goble came away with a win 6-0. Also having emphatic wins were doubles No. 2 compiled of senior Taylor Jackson and senior Anca Rusu. Rounding out doubles competition, also nabbing a win was freshman Aleksandra Kistanova and her partner junior Rebecca Falkner.
Staying in Augustana character, AU claimed victories in all six of the singles matches. Arce Vieyra was able to keep the No. 1 singles locked down coming away 6-2, 6-0. Goble was able to get the double bagel in No. 2 singles.
Anca Rusu (6-0, 6-0) and Rebecca Falkner (6-0, 6-0) were also among the Viking winners on the day in singles.
Kristanova and Jackson remain undefeated with victories as well.
The Vikings return to action Sunday morning at 8:30 facing Minnesota State in St. Peter, Minnesota.
One Last Thing
The Vikings achieved seven total double bagels in today's dual.
