AUSTIN, Texas – Augustana senior
Kendall Cornick has been voted to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II softball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Cornick holds a 3.94 GPA while earning her degree in biology at Augustana.

Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program with student-athletes selected based on career statistics. Cornick was a member of the Academic All-District Team for the past two seasons and earns All-America honors for the first time.

The veteran of 136 games for Augustana has racked up 138 hits and scored 126 runs while tallying 58 RBI over her career at Augustana, which includes the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship.

She was hitting .365 this season before it came to an abrupt halt after 19 games. She had totaled 23 hits and 18 runs scored in those 19 games while hitting three home runs.

Cornick becomes the second-straight Viking softball player to earn Academic All-America accolades as
Maggie Kadrlik earned the honor last season. Overall, Cornick is the sixth Viking to earn the top academic team honor in the country.
