CLEVELAND -- The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) announced the 2019-20 recipients of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards. The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 13th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.

Augustana University led the NSIC with 159 total honorees. The Vikings as a whole had quite an outstanding academic year. Leading the NSIC with 237 NSIC All-Academic, eight Academic All-Americans, 13 Academic All-District and rounded out with two postgraduate scholarship awards. 

"Our student-athletes had an outstanding year in 2019-20 in the classroom" Augustana director of athletics Josh Morton said. "Academic excellence is the core of who we are at Augustana and I continue to be so proud of our student-athletes in the classroom and in competition."

In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director of the Division II institution must be current dues-paying member of the D2 ADA.

Also, the student-athlete must: have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
