SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University has named
Gilbert DeWitte '24 as its Director of Broadcast Productions, a role that will serve both Augustana Athletics and the university's Media Production & Entrepreneurship program.
DeWitte will lead broadcast production efforts for Augustana Athletics and the School of Music, overseeing live event production while enhancing the viewing experience for Viking fans. His arrival comes at a pivotal time as Augustana transitions all home broadcasts to Midco Sports Plus, placing an increased emphasis on delivering high-quality, subscription-based livestreams.
In addition to his work with Athletics, DeWitte will teach within Augustana's Media Production & Entrepreneurship program, providing students with hands-on instruction informed by his professional experience.

An Augustana graduate, DeWitte earned bachelor's degrees in Music and Multimedia Entrepreneurship before completing a Master of Business Administration in Music Business from the University of North Texas in 2026. During his time at North Texas, he served as a Teaching Fellow and Teaching Assistant while managing the university's recording lab and teaching senior capstone courses.
His professional experience includes working with Grammy-nominated artist Jason Derulo at Future History Studio, serving as an assistant playback engineer on Harry Styles' Love On Tour, and earning numerous industry certifications in Pro Tools, Dolby Atmos, Media Composer, Dante and TriCaster technologies.
