SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--Augustana Soccer defeated Minot State on Friday with a final score of 4-0. The Vikings remain unbeaten at home this season and the victory marks the fourth-straight shutout for Augustana.Â
Minot State was undefeated in conference play prior to the matchup, suffers its first loss in NSIC action, falling to 9-3 overall and 8-1 in league play. The Vikings improve to 7-3-2 overall and 6-1-2 in NSIC action.
Senior Carlie Kray kicked off the scoring for the Vikings with a goal in the seventh minute of play. Kray sailed the ball past the Minot State goalkeeper in the bottom-left corner of the net. Her goal was set up by Sylvia Fehr who picked up the assist.Â
Fehr entered Friday's contest leading the nation in assists and continued that trend with her 10th of the season.Â
The second goal for the Vikings was scored by senior Alexis Legg after a Macie Haggerty pass. Haggerty connected with Legg in front of the net as Legg beat a scrum to hit the back of the net.Â
The last two goals on the Viking's sheet were a pair of own goals from the Beavers.
Augustana tallied 10 shots with five on goal. Minot State recorded eight shots on goal with 13 total. Legg led the way for AU with three shots while Kray totaled two shots.Â
Goalkeeper Jillian Barkus earned her seventh shutout of the season with the victory. Barkus has not allowed a goal in any of Augustana's seven victories and faced eight shots in today's contest.Â
