Winona State moves to 18-3 on the season and 9-3 within the NSIC. The Vikings are now 12-8 and 7-5 within the loop. The loss was the first one inside the Elmen Center this season for the Vikings.
Two five-point runs in favor of the Warriors proved to be too much for the Vikings in set one, in which Winona State prevailed, 25-17.
The second set provided no convincing leader with the score at 17-all.
Augustana gained an advantage a few points later coming off a kill from freshman Jolie Stecher and two attack errors from the Warriors (23-19), bringing the Vikings two points from clinching the second set.
Junior Kate Reimann took control of the second set, finding a weakness in the Warrior defense, delivering a kill to win set two, 25-23.
The Vikings and Warriors dueled in the third set but Augustana fell just short of taking the 2-1 lead in the match, falling 25-21.
A nine-point run in the middle of the fourth set was the decider for the Warriors, as they would go on to take set four 25-14 to win the match, 3-1.
The Vikings were led by Maddy Guetter with 20 kills, Avery Thorson dished out 37 assists and Erika Bute totaled 22 digs.
