Augustana Soccer Set for Home Regular Season Finale Friday

Travels to Winona State Sunday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- Augustana soccer returns home to Morstad Field with a match against the Upper Iowa Peacocks on Friday at 3 p.m. for the regular-season home finale. The Vikings then travel to Winona, Minnesota, for a game against Winona State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Games

The Vikings are on a seven-game win streak and have an NSIC record of 9-1-2 and an overall record of 10-3-2. Augustana has posted eight shutouts on the season and has tallied 36 goals this fall. 

Upper Iowa holds a record of 7-7 overall and 5-7 in conference action. The Peacocks are entering the match having defeated MSU Moorhead last Sunday. Upper Iowa fell short against Northern State last Friday in a 1-0 loss.

Winona State has recorded a record of 4-9-1 overall and 3-8-1 in NSIC play. The Warriors played MSU Moorhead last Friday, falling 1-0 in 90 minutes of action. Last Sunday, Winona State was defeated in overtime against Northern State with a score of 1-0.

The Peacocks

There are two leaders in the scoring category for Upper Iowa. Katie Samuels and Haley Ramberg both have tallied four goals each. Samuels has also recorded three assists, following closely behind junior Leah Willenbring (5). 

Upper Iowa has two goalkeepers in Natalie Rudrud and Alena Miller. Rudrud has started in net for 14 games for the Peacocks and has recorded a save percentage of 0.647. She has tallied 145 saves for the team. Miller has seen action in one game, facing three shots.

The Warriors

Winona State's goal leader is Riley Harmon. Harmon has scored four goals for the Warriors over the team's 14 games played. There are four players from Winona State with two goals; Missy Greco, Abigail Williams, Emily Chudik and Ella Roberts. In the assists category, Ellie Wardell leads Winona State with four.

The goalkeeping is balanced for Winona State, with Alyson Jumper seeing action in nine games and Yanel Ortiz in net for six. Jumper has faced 111 shots and has a save percentage of 0.806. Ortiz has faced 65 shots with a save percentage of 0.821. 

The Vikings

Augustana is looking to keep its winning streak alive going into the weekend. The Vikings played a pair of matches in Minnesota last weekend, seeing two victories against NSIC opponents St. Cloud State and Minnesota-Duluth. 

The top scorer for AU is Alexis Legg. Legg has recorded seven goals in 14 matches. Carlie Kray and Morgan Keirstead follow Legg in the category, with both tallying five goals. In total, there are 14 players for the Vikings that have scored at least one goal this season.

Sylvia Fehr leads in the assist category. Fehr is the nation's leader in assists with 12 after adding two more to the sheet in last Friday's game at St. Cloud State. Alexis Legg and Morgan Keirstead have also tabbed five assists. 

Goalkeepers Jillian Barkus and Meghan Kuntz have seen action in net for the Vikings. Barkus has started 14 of the 15 total games this season and has recorded a save percentage of 0.855 after facing 150 shots. Kuntz has played in four of the matches and has a save percentage of 0.855 on the season.
