SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana men's tennis team opened the 2021 season in style with a 6-1 victory over Mount Marty Saturday night in Sioux Falls.
 
The Vikings move to 1-0 on the young season while Mount Marty moves to 0-2.
 
The Vikings opened doubles play with a pair of 6-0 victories. Cade Damgaard and Tory Shafer teamed up at No. 1 doubles while Eden Mrozek and Jakson Stoutamire were partners at No. 2 doubles.
 
Moving into singles action, Damgaard won 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles with Stoutamire winning by the same scores at No. 2.
 
The Vikings pulled out 6-0, 6-0, victories at single numbers 3, 4 and 5. Mrozek was victorious at No. 3 while Tyson Cowger prevailed at No. 4. Shafer played No. 5 singles to the victory.
 
Augustana returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 13, with a match at Morningside. The contest is set to begin at 5:45 p.m.
