Augustana Men’s Golf Wraps Up Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- The Augustana men's golf squad finished its first tournament of the year Saturday afternoon at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada.

The Vikings were the lone Division II team in the tournament and competed against eight Division I squads: UNLV, Southern Utah, Utah State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, SIU Edwardsville, Youngstown State and North Dakota State. Team results for all can be found here.

Individually, the Vikings were led by junior Jacob Lee, who tied for 44th in the tournament. Lee was a model of consistency throughout the weekend, shooting a 79, 78 and 78 in his three rounds for a total score of 235.

Augustana's NSIC Preseason Golfer to Watch junior Alex Stanz followed Lee with a three-round score of 236. Stanz also shot consistently with rounds of 79, 78 and 79. Fellow junior Hunter Von Bergen followed Stanz with a three-round score of 239 while improving by five strokes (83 to 78) from round one to round two.

Junior Sam Sutcliffe shot the best round of the tournament for Augustana with a 76 in round two on Friday afternoon. Sutcliffe finished with a three-round score of 244. The full list of individual results can be found here.

Up Next
The Vikings will take Sunday off, before competing in the Warrior Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.
