SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's tennis team won 7-0 over Nebraska-Kearney Sunday morning at GreatLIFE Woodlake. The sweep is the sixth-straight 7-0 win for the Vikings who move to 7-1 on the year. Nebraska-Kearney falls to 1-3.
As has been the case all year, the duo of
Valeriya Monko and
Florentia Hadjigeorgiou started doubles action with a victory, winning 6-1 on Sunday. The freshmen are 8-0 in doubles action on the season, all in the No. 1 slot.
At No. 2 doubles,
Laura Arce Vieyra and
Grace Goble won 6-2 while
Aleksandra Kistanova and
Emily Granson prevailed at No. 3 doubles, 6-1.
In singles action,
Margarita Chouliara won with a double bagel 6-0, 6-0, for the third-straight match. Against UNK, she played at No. 4 singles for the win.
Monko and Granson remain undefeated on the season in singles play, with Monko winning at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1. Granson picked up the victory at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Monko is now 8-0, all at No. 1 singles, while Granson is 6-0.
Also picking up singles victories were Hadjigeorgiou at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1, Arce Vieyra at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1 and Kistanova at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Augustana remains outside of NSIC action on Saturday by traveling to St. Joseph, Missouri, to play a neutral-site match with Rockhurst.
