Viking Baseball Climbs to No. 20 in NCAA Rankings

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- After being preseason ranked No. 23 in the NCAA Top-25 for Division II Baseball and receiving votes for a majority of the regular season, the Augustana baseball team is back in the NCAA Top-25. This time, the Vikings check in at No. 20.

The rankings are updated through games that took place on April 27 or earlier, which would not include Augustana's Wednesday afternoon sweep of No. 11-ranked NSIC foe Minnesota State.

The Vikings and Mavericks are the only NSIC squads in the national rankings and currently both sit atop the NISC with Minnesota State in first and Augustana in second.

Nationally, the Vikings also rank first in strikeouts per nine innings, third in stolen bases and 20th in batting average.

Augustana currently sits at 26-8 overall and 22-8 within the NSIC this season and is back on the diamond this weekend for a three-game series against the Wildcats of Wayne State.
