KEARNEY, NEB.- The Augustana soccer team won its first game of the season after an overtime goal from Alexis Legg in the 98th minute in Kearney, Nebraska, on Sunday. The contest moved to overtime after a scoreless game through 90 minutes.

With the Vikings holding possession in their offensive third, Legg scored the game-winner with an assist from Sylvia Fehr. Legg turned on her defender and sent a rocket into the bottom right corner of the net.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jillian Barkus had her first shutout of the season and the first of her career. Barkus made an impressive save early in the first half after a shot in the lower right from the Lopers. Barkus dove and blocked the shot with one hand to keep the match nil-nil.

Augustana led the game with 14 shots, seven of which were on goal, over the Lopers' eight total shots, six of those being on goal. Four different Vikings had two shots each in the contest.
