BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana's
Peyton Buckley has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Vikings to a 43-17 win over MSU Moorhead on Saturday.

The Rice Lake, Wisconsin, native earns his first weekly honor from the NSIC.

Buckley simply intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble while breaking up two additional passes. In addition, he tallied three tackles, all solo, in the defensive effort.

Overall, Augustana's defense gave up negative 34 yards rushing to MSU Moorhead. As a whole, the Viking defense ranks 18
th in the nation by giving up just over 12 points per contest.

Buckley, who had not seen game action since 2018 as a high school senior until this season, leads AU with 15 tackles after three games.

The undefeated Vikings are on the road at Bemidji State on Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
