SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana soccer team dominated the MSU Moorhead Dragons in a 4-0 win on Friday. Starting their two-game homestand, the Vikings captured their second-straight shutout victory. Augustana did not allow a single Dragon's shot in the 90 minutes.
Augustana improves to 3-2-1 on the season and 3-0-1 in NSIC action. MSU Moorhead falls to 0-6 on the year.
Senior Bailey Parsons kicked off the scoring streak for the Vikings with a goal from the far right corner of the penalty box in the 17th minute of the game. Parson's goal was unassisted.
Sophomore Annika Bard scored her first-career goal in an Augustana uniform during the 20th minute of the first half. Just six minutes later, Bard scored her second goal of the game off of an assist from junior Sylvia Fehr.
Senior Alexis Legg scored the fourth goal for AU on a penalty kick after drawing a foul inside of the penalty box. Legg's shot soared past the goalkeeper into the lower right corner of the net, further solidifying the win for Augustana in the 74th minute.
Fehr's assist on Bard's second goal marks her fourth of the season. Fehr is leading the Vikings in assists this season.
Augustana peppered 36 total shots during the contest, 18 of which were shots on goal. The Viking's defense dominated the field and did not allow a single shot from the Dragons. Eleven players from the Vikings recorded at least one shot on goal during the matchup.
