SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana men's golf team swept the UMary Invite claiming the individual medalist and the team champion. The UMary Invite took place on Sunday and Monday. The tournament was held at Hawktree Golf Course in Bismarck, N.D. and hosted by University of Mary. Augustana had two teams competing in the tournament. 

The 'A' team for the Vikings was composed of Will Allen, Alex Stanz, Sam Sutcliffe, Jacob Lee, and Hunter Von Bergen. 

Individually, Allen won his first-career tournament for Augustana, with 71 strokes in the first round and 73 strokes in the second round. His total for the tournament was 144, which was three strokes ahead of the runner-up while he finished 1-over-par. 

Alex Stanz and Sam Sutcliffe tied for sixth place. Stanz's total score for the tournament was 150, knocking out 75 strokes for each round. Sutcliffe came out of round one with a score of 80, but improved in the second round with a score of 70, 2-under-par. 

The final members of the Vikings 'A' team were Jacob Lee as he placed in a tie for fifth place with 151 strokes over the two rounds. Von Bergen placed in a tie for 15th with 159 strokes.

Augustana's 'B' team competing in the tournament saw Jordan Slagle, Zach Stanz, Spencer Wittstruck, Cullen Johnson, and Gavin Hibbert. Slagle tied for 10th place with a total score of 153. 

The schools that participated were the University of Mary, Valley City State, and Alexandria Technical Community College in addition to the two Viking teams.

The Vikings return to the golf course on October 11th and 12th for the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
