Augustana Soccer Welcomes St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth for Weekend Matchups

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--The Augustana women's soccer team hosts St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth this weekend for Viking Days and Alumni appreciation. The Friday match against St. Cloud State is set for a 4 p.m. kickoff. On Sunday, Minnesota Duluth arrives at Morstad Field for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The Sunday game is the alumni appreciation game for the Vikings.

The Huskies

St. Cloud State holds an NSIC record of 3-3-4 and an overall record of 4-5-4. The Huskies fell to Minnesota State 2-1 on Friday and tied Concordia-St. Paul 0-0 on Sunday in the team's most recent NSIC games. 

Megan Kirby and Jenna Dominguez lead the Huskies offense with four goals each this season. Kirby has totaled three assists and 11 points having made 13 starts for St. Cloud State. 

In the backfield, Evie Kohn has appeared in all 13 games for SCSU and made 12 starts. Kohn's save percentage sits at 0.771 with 127 shots faced.

The Bulldogs

Minnesota Duluth is 4-6-3 overall and 3-4-3 in NSIC action. Last weekend, the Bulldogs were defeated by Concordia-St. Paul 2-1 and tied Minnesota State 1-1. On Friday prior to the Sunday match against the Vikings, UMD heads to Wayne State for an NSIC game.

Jackie Jares leads the Bulldog's offense with four goals and three assists. The team has also totaled two goals. 

Three goalkeepers have appeared in games for UMD with Jennifer Norris making eight starts. Norris is 2-4-2 overall and has a save percentage of 0.796 having faced 80 shots.

The Vikings

Augustana is 6-5-2 overall and holds an NSIC record of 6-3-1. The Vikings split last weekend with a 1-0 loss to Minot State on Friday and a 3-1 victory over UMary on Sunday.

Josie Arduser, Morgan Keirstead and Sylvia Fehr lead the Vikings with five goals each. Arduser also leads the Vikings with four assists and 14 points.

Sylvia Fehr became the Augustana soccer career assists leader after adding her 20th career assist on Arduser's goal in AU's 4-3 win over MSU Moorhead. Fehr totaled 15 assists last season, a single season record, and four assists in 2019, to enter 2022 tied for the career record at 19. She surpassed Stephanie Goos who played for the Vikings from 2007-10.

Jillian Barkus has been the lone goalkeeper this season for Augustana. Barkus has started in all 13 games and has a save percentage of 0.783 having faced 127 shots.
