Larson, Diepenbrock and Weber Earn NSIC First Team Accolades; Eight Total Honored

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana football had its 100th season conclude with eight members named to the 2022 NSIC South Division All-Conference teams. On the first team, Blake Larson, Grayson Diepenbrock and Eli Weber all earned nods. Jack Fisher, Mitchell Goodbary, C.J. James, Peyton Buckley and T.J. Liggett all earned spots on the second team.
 
Larson, hailing from Brandon, South Dakota, earns a spot on the NSIC's First Team for the second-straight season. As an offensive lineman, Larson helped block for an offense that rushed for 130.4 yards and passed for 203.6 yards per game. He started all 11 games at right tackle.
 
Diepenbrock is a back-to-back first team honoree after his record-breaking season and career. The Parker, Texas, native set the single-season school record with 10.5 sacks in 2022, a mark that ranked 10th in DII this year. For his career, the defensive end totaled 26 sacks, also a school record. Diepenbrock recorded 16 tackles for loss and forced three fumbles, all three recovered by Augustana.
 
Weber is now a three-time First Team All-NSIC honoree. Hailing from Dawson, Minnesota, Weber recorded 53 tackles, four of which were tackles for loss. The defensive back led Augustana with four interceptions while adding another four pass breakups. His four interceptions, over the 11 starts, rank him fourth in the NSIC.
 
Fisher earns his first-career postseason honoree with his second-team nod. The sophomore from Rochester, Minnesota, had a breakout campaign with 37 receptions for 556 yards and seven touchdowns. He ranked fourth in the NSIC with his seven touchdown receptions. His season high in catches and yards was a six-reception, 74-yard day against Minnesota Duluth.
 
Goodbary is a member of the second team for the second-straight year. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native started all 11 games at tight end where he caught 19 passes for 220 yards. He also garnered a touchdown in the victory at MSU Moorhead.
 
James is a member of the Second Team All-NSIC for the first time. Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, James started all 11 games at left guard. He joins an ever-growing list of offensive linemen at Augustana to earn all-conference accolades as he is the 12th since 2016.
 
Buckley, last season's NSIC Defensive Newcomer of the Year, earned his second-team nod after ranking second at Augustana with 60 tackles. The Rice Lake, Wisconsin, native was part of nine passes defended with three interceptions. The defensive back returned two of those interceptions for touchdowns, first a 21-yard jaunt against Bemidji State, then a 40-yard return against Southwest Minnesota State.
 
Liggett is a member of the NSIC's postseason squad for the third-straight season, the third-straight season in which he led AU in tackles. The linebacker, who started all 11 games, totaled 81 tackles, 50 of which were solo while accounting for 4.5 tackles for loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry. For the season, he totaled nine games with seven or more tackles with four of those games accounting for nine or more tackles.
