BOX SCORE 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Augustana softball team is leaving Florida having won six-straight games. The Vikings topped Caldwell 9-0 in the opening game and prevailed 5-1 over Wayne State (Mich.) in the second game of the day Sunday.

Augustana is 13-4 on the year while Caldwell is 1-1. Wayne State (Mich.) is 3-3.

Four first inning runs caried the Vikings in the finale in Florida. It was 3-0 just four batters into the game thanks to a home run off the bat of
Torri Chute. Both
Delaney Young and
Liz Dierks were on base for Chute's four-bagger.

The visitors on the scoreboard got a run back in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly.

Augustana added the final run of the game in the fifth inning on a Buckman single. Young, who was on second base, rounded third and crossed home plate for the run.

Ashley Mickschl pitched five innings, giving up five hits and just the lone run while striking out three.
Olivia Hazelbaker twirled the final two innings, giving up no hits.

Buckman led AU in the batter's box with a 2-for-3 outing while Chute recorded three RBI, all on the home run. The Vikings tallied nine hits in the contest.
