TOPEKA, Kan. – The Augustana men's tennis team had a tough weekend of conference play facing two nationally-ranked teams. Augustana fell to No. 7 Washburn (4-0) and No. 25 Northwest Missouri State (7-0), in a weekend of matches on the road.

The Vikings fall to 4-9 overall and 0-4 within the MIAA. Washburn moves to 11-2 while Northwest Missouri State is elevated to 4-3.

No. 7 Washburn 4, Augustana 0

Augustana had a tight match in No. 1 doubles, with Henry Dornbusch and Cade Damgaard falling 6-3. However, the Ichabods would win all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.

Dornbusch and Damgaard continued the pressure in singles play, with two close matches in No. 1 and No. 3 singles. Dornbusch fell in No. 1 singles 6-3, 7-6, while Damgaard fell short in No. 3 singles going 6-1, 7-5.

No. 25 Northwest Missouri State 7, Augustana 0.

In No. 1 doubles, Henry Dornbusch and Cade Damgaard had the closest match, faltering 6-4.

Dornbusch also had a close affair in No. 1 singles, falling just shy of victory with a score of 7-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The Vikings will conclude the regular season hosting St. Johns on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Sioux City, Iowa, Sunday to face Morningside at 4 p.m.
