SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana softball team will begin its 2022 home campaign by calling Sherman Park its home field due to supply chain issues in finishing the construction of Bowden Field. Sherman Park is located just minutes from the Augustana campus with an address of 2705 W. 12
th St. The Vikings will utilize Field I, closest to the Great Plains Zoo.

"The new Bowden Field is being built to reflect the excellence of Augustana softball and to be a firstÂ-class home for the next 30-plus years," Augustana director of athletics
Josh Morton said. "While it is disappointing for our student-athletes and fans today, it is going to be an amazing facility once it is complete.

"Supply chain issues have become part of our daily lives, so I'm proud of our softball program for continuing to focus on chasing championships. We're also grateful to the City of Sioux Falls for its support in helping us find a temporary home."

The Vikings will get a jump start on playing at Sherman Park as the doubleheader against Wayne State has been bumped up a day to Monday. The doubleheader is slated for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. starts.

Fans are encouraged to enter the parking lot via the 13
th street entrance, opposite of the entrance to the zoo. Entrance to Augustana contests will be free of charge while playing at the city complex.
