WAYNE, NEB. – The Augustana women's golf team saw two top-five finishes to take fourth place as a team at the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Nebraska.
Winning the event was Nebraska-Kearney with 615 strokes. It was followed by Concordia-St. Paul with 622 strokes and Wayne State 626 strokes. The Vikings were fourth with 629 strokes.
The Vikings were led by
Lauren Tims who put up a two-day score of 153 (76-77) to take fourth. Tims would also tie for the most birdies in the tournament with five.
Natalie Young placed in a tie for sixth with 155 strokes followed by
Molly Stevens who tied for ninth with a two-day total of 156. Stevens would also have the best par-3 average in the tournament with 3.00 even par on par threes.
Rounding out the team of five was
Shannon McCormick who placed 33rd with 165 strokes (81-84) and
Hanna Morin who placed 44th with 171 strokes (83-88).
The Vikings would have four individuals competing with
Masy Mock placing fifth with a score of 154. She was followed by
Annika Stensrud placing ninth with a score of 156.
Kait Asklund placed in a tie for 36th with a two-day score of 166, while
Rachel Schwarz placed in a tie for 39th with a score of 169.
The Vikings will next tee off when they host the Augustana Easter Lily Invitational at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, April 15-16.
