SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--The Augustana men's golf team opens play at the NSIC Championship on Thursday. The three-round event runs Thursday through Saturday at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri.
The Vikings
Augustana has participated in four events in the spring, finishing in the top-10 in all events. The highest finish came at the Augustana Invite with AU placing third in the field. Jacob Lee recorded his second top-10 finish of the season at the RMC Intercollegiate, placing ninth in a field of 65 golfers.

The Field
Winona State enters the NSIC Championship with the lowest stroke average at 297.9. Bemidji State is in the second spot with a stroke average of 302.9. Augustana is in the middle of the pack with a stroke average of 309.9.
Minnesota State's Ben Laffen holds the lowest stroke average entering the tournament with 72.6 with golfers from Winona State sitting in the third through seventh spots.
The Course
Adams Pointe Golf Club, located in Blue Springs, Missouri, is located minutes from downtown Kansas City. The 18-hole championship golf course is carved out of woods and wetlands and will be the home of the NSIC Golf Championship in 2022 and 2023.
The course is set to play 6,880 yards and to a par 72 over the three rounds.
The Preseason Poll
Augustana was selected to finish seventh in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll, with Jacob Lee named as the Vikings Preseason Golfer to Watch. The Vikings received 40 total points in the poll.
Last Year
The Vikings finished in sixth place as a team at the 2021 NSIC Championship, which was held at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri. Jacob Lee was the highest finisher for Augustana, placing in a tie for fourth place with 218 total strokes over three rounds.
