LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Augustana volleyball assistant coach Michelle Aggen has been named to the 2022 AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award list. The AVCA announced the recipients on Thursday afternoon.

"I am so proud of Aggen and we are extremely lucky to have her on our coaching staff here at Augustana," head volleyball coach Jennifer Jacobs said. "She has been instrumental in our continued improvement and success of our program the past four years, and has played a vital role in recruiting, game management, team dynamics and restoring Augie volleyball to a powerhouse in the NSIC."

Aggen is in her fourth year as at Augustana, in the 2021 season, Augustana had a record of 19-11 overall with a 13-7 ledger in NSIC play. The team finished its season in the NSIC semifinals. Additionally, Augustana had four players who earned All-NSIC honors with Maddy Guetter earning first team honors. Erika Bute, Payton Rosendahl and Avery Thorson were tabbed NSIC second team.

About the AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award

The awards program, created in 2009, honors up-and-coming coaches at all levels of volleyball—college, high school, and club—and the recipients serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director. Nominees had to be younger than 30 years old in 2021 to qualify for the award.
