SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana volleyball team had four of its student-athletes selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) to the 2023 Academic All-District team. The honorees for the Vikings are Erika Bute, Callie Hohenhaus, Kia Kriener and Lucy Bartee.
 
The 2023 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include student-athletes who have reached at least sophomore academic and athletic standing at his institution, maintain a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average, and at least in his second academic year at the institution (first year transfers are not eligible) while being competing members of the varsity travel squad.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
 
Erika Bute

Her 5.64 digs per set ranked her sixth in the nation
Her 2,259 digs are third amongst active career leaders in all of DII, and 11th across all levels. 

Callie Hohenhaus
Led the team with a 0.273 hitting percentage
Second on the team with 89 blocks.

Kia Kriener
All-NSIC First Team
Led the Vikings with 380 kills, good for 3.76 kills per set.
Racked up 407.0 points
Collected 259 total kills in NSIC action and averaged 3.98 kills per set, both good for second in the conference.
 
Lucy Bartee
Ranked 28th in the nation with 10.43 assists per set.
Tallied 1,074 total assists, 40th most in the country. 
Also added 232 digs.
