WACO, Texas – The NSIC Champion Augustana football team ended the 2023 season ranked No. 13 in the final AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Augustana's season ended with an 11-2 record in the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs.
 
On the year, the Vikings collected wins over three ranked opponents including a 28-10 victory over No. 3 Minnesota State on October 21 to move to 8-0 on the season. The Vikings secured the NSIC Championship with a 38-19 victory over No. 12 Bemidji State on Nov. 11.
 
In the opening round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs, Augustana stormed past Minnesota State for a second time in 2023 with a 51-24 win over the 17^th-ranked Mavericks.
 
In the end of the year poll, both of those squads AU topped ended the year ranked No. 16 (Bemidji State) and No. 21 (Minnesota State).
 
Augustana started the season 8-0 and ended the year tied for a program-best 11 wins. The NSIC Championship was the second in three years for AU.
 
The Vikings postseason awards have come aplenty with Blake Larson and Peyton Buckley each earning a trio of All-America awards. In addition, Avery Book and Devon Jones have each earned an All-America honor from various entities.
