WEST FARGO, N.D. – The Augustana women's swimming & diving squad took hold of two NSIC Champions while also recording an NSIC record and Augustana school record in the 800 freestyle relay on day three of the NSIC Championships. Behind the champions, Augustana maintains its lead in the overall standings, vying for its first NSIC Team Championship Saturday.
The group of Amaya Street, Kamryn Robarge, Maija Kangas and Meesha Montgomery shattered the NSIC record, as well as setting an Augustana program record, in the 800 freestyle relay swimming a time of 7:33.29. Previous to AU's record, the NSIC record was held by Sioux Falls with a time of 7:34.58.
Nesrine Jelitti was the first Viking of the evening to be coined an NSIC Champion. Jelitti made her mark in the 100 breaststroke garnering a first place finish in a time of 1:03.77. This is Jelletti's second NSIC Championship following Thursday night's 400 medley relay win. On top of her first place win, she recorded an additional NCAA 'B' cut time.Â
Bryn Greenwaldt recorded an NSIC All-Conference finish with a runner-up placing in the 100 back. She swam an NCAA 'B' cut time of 55.26.Â
"It was another good day for our team," said head coach Lindsie Micko. "We had plenty of ups and downs, but we had some great swims and our relays were amazing to finish the night.
"It's going to be a dogfight tomorrow as we chase a championship. It should be an exciting day."
Wrapping up day three of the NSIC Championships, Augustana leads the team rankings with 684 points.Â

The Viking women return to action tomorrow at the fourth and final day of the NSIC Championships in West Fargo, North Dakota. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.am followed by the 3 meter dive at 1 p.m. and finally finals at 5:30 p.m., with team awards to follow.Â
