Vikings Take Down Falcons in St. Patrick’s Day Affair

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana acrobatics & tumbling team recorded a season-high score enroute to a St. Patrick's Day victory over Concordia Wisconsin. The Vikings outpaced the Falcons 266.765-243.030 to win for the first time on their home floor in the Elmen Center. The first-year program is now over .500 on the season, marking one of the top start-up programs in the country.

Head Coach Kaelyn Cowan's Post-Meet Thoughts
"This was one of our best days that we've had all season. I would say the highest point for us was compulsory acro itself, and then the compulsory event along with the acro event. That was super amazing for us to finally complete those, how we do at practice. We're really excited."

  • Augustana won five of the six events enroute to the victory.
  • Augustana has now claimed 17 event wins on the year.
  • Augustana scored season high totals in four events on the evening:
  • Augustana's season-high score in the compulsory was 37.850, surpassing the previous high by more than a point which occurred in the first meeting with the Falcons on Feb. 19.
  • The score of 27.850 in the acro continued the season-long build in the event as AU previously set the high its last time out at Caldwell on March 7.
  • Once again showing a season-long climb, the Vikings recorded 27.000 points in the toss, eclipsing the 26.85 at Caldwell.
  • The final season-best came in the team event where the Vikings garnered 93.39 points, surpassing the 92.08 set against CUW earlier this season.
  • Augustana garnered 14 heat wins on the evening.
