SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana Acrobatics & Tumbling head coach Sophia Gardner has announced the addition of Lizzie Maurer as assistant coach.

Maurer joins the Vikings following a standout career on the Fairmont State Acrobatics & Tumbling team. There, she was a three-time Mountain East Conference Champion and five-time participant in the NCATA National Championships with the Fighting Falcons.

While at Fairmont State, Maurer was extremely involved in the community. She served as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee President for two seasons and where she helped run their athletics award show and helped raise over $40,000 for Make-A-Wish through SAAC. In 2026, she earned the Colleen Kausrud Leadership Award, given to a senior NCATA student-athlete who exemplifies servant leadership. 

Maurer graduated summa cum laude from Fairmont State with a degree in communication arts in 2025 before receiving her master's degree in business administration in 2026.
