SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--The Augustana men's golf team is set to begin its spring season Monday at the Maverick Desert Classic in Goodyear, Arizona. The two-day tournament kicks off a spring season that has five events on the calendar for the Vikings.
The Vikings
Augustana competed in six events in the fall season with its best finishes coming at the Hardrocker Invite (fourth place) and USF Invitational (fourth place).
Sophomore Will Allen was selected as the Vikings' Preseason Golfer to Watch. The Augustana men's golf team was selected seventh overall in this season's NSIC Preseason Coaches poll. Six golfers are returning from the previous season, with the addition of four golfers to the 2022-23 roster. Coralee Jorgensen was promoted to the Director of Golf position, and Mike Krsnak was named the head coach of the men's golf team prior to the fall season.
The Season
Augustana is set to compete in five events during the spring season. AU begins its season at the Maverick Desert Classic on March 6-7, hosted by Minnesota State. The tournament will be played at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
On March 8-10, the Vikings are set to compete at the DGJA Spring College Invitational in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
The season continues with the NSIC Preview Invitational in Blue Springs, Missouri, on March 27-28. The tournament is slated to take place at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
The Vikings will return to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the Augustana Spring Invite on April 14-15, hosted by Augustana.
Wrapping up the spring season is the NSIC Championships on April 21-23. The Vikings will travel back to Blue Springs, Missouri, for the tournament that takes place at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
