GOODYEAR, Ariz.--The Augustana men's golf team competed at the Maverick Desert Classic on Monday and Tuesday, finishing the first tournament of the spring season. The Vikings had five participants in the tournament.

How it Happened

• Cullen Johnson finished in a tie for 16th place, shooting 73 (+1) in the first round and 76 (+4) in the second round of the tournament to bring his total score to 149.

• As a team, the Vikings totaled 622 strokes.

• Augustana totaled 21 birdies in the two-round tournament. Blake Northagen led the team with six birdies, and Cullen Johnson totaled five.

The Vikings return to the course for the DJGA Spring College Invitational on March 8-10. The tournament will be held at the Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
