ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Augustana women's basketball team fell 63-49 at the hands of Northern State on Saturday night on Don Meyer Court inside Wachs Arena.

The Vikings fall to 4-11 on the season and 3-8 in conference play while the Wolves move to 12-4, 8-2.

Jennifer Aadland scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead AU. Aby Phipps added 15 points and seven rebounds, while CJ Adamson had team-highs with four assists and two steals. The Vikings outscored NSU 12-7 in second chance points.

After the Wolves opened the scoring with the first six points, Aadland knocked down a pair of threes on consecutive possessions to tie the game at 6-6 with 6:23 remaining in the first quarter. The Wolves went on to score 12 of the next 14 points to take an 18-8 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, NSU continued its run, growing its lead to 34-14. The Vikings tightened up to close the half, scoring the final seven points while holding the Wolves scoreless over the final 4:36 to trail 34-21 at halftime.

Phipps and Izzy Moore extended the run to open the second half, each making a 2-pointer to bring the Vikings within single digits at 34-25 with 8:16 left in the third quarter.

The Wolves responded with a 9-2 run to grow its lead to 43-27, and after the Vikings got back within 13, they scored the final five points of the quarter to lead 49-31 into the fourth.

Katie Leisen made a layup to open the fourth quarter scoring, and an Aadland free throw and Phipps 3-pointer closed a 6-2 Viking jolt to trail 51-37. NSU's 14 point lead held until its final possession when they knocked down a jumper to bring the game to its final score.

Augustana looks to get back on track on Friday, traveling to Bemidji State for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. It will mark the first game in the conference schedule in which the women play the early game in the doubleheader.
