Viking Soccer Closes Out Regular Season Thursday Afternoon

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana soccer team (9-4-4, 8-2-3 NSIC) finishes the regular season on the home pitch as it hosts Southwest Minnesota State (2-13-2, 2-9-2 NSIC) on Thursday at 3 p.m.. 

Augustana soccer sits third in the conference with 27 points behind Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul and ahead of St. Cloud State and Minot State.

The Mustangs
SMSU sits 12th in the conference with eight points. Mason Haley leads the Mustangs with four goals. Haley also leads the team with two game-winners. 

Rachel Hicks and Stella Litzen have shared time between the pipes with Hicks starting 12 games and Litzen playing in five. Hicks holds a goals-against average of 1.83 and a save percentage of .829. 

The Vikings
The Vikings went 1-0-1 last weekend as they defeated Northern State 2-0 on Friday and tied MSU Moorhead 1-1 on Sunday. Macie Haggerty and Madelyn White found the back of the net in Friday's win while Audrey Parnell tallied her fourth of the season on Sunday. 

White, Parnell and Ally Hamski lead the Vikings with four goals each. White has also tallied five assists on the year for a team-high 13 points. 

Taya Baker has remained strong between the pipes with a 6-0-2 record. Baker has allowed five goals and holds a save percentage of .861.
