BOX SCORE 2 MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Augustana softball team split with Arkansas at Monticello Monday, earning a game one win 6-0. In the day's second game, AU fell 5-2.

Augustana holds a 4-4 record while the Blossoms also have a .500 record at 3-3.

Game One: Augustana 6, Arkansas at Monticello 0
Grace Glanzer tossed a gem by not allowing a hit until the fourth inning and completed the contest with 11 strikeouts in six innings.Â

The Vikings plated two runs in the opening frame to take control of the contest early.
Andrea Cain scored an unearned run on a
Gracey Brink triple. Brink was then pushed home by
Torri Chute for the 2-0 lead.Â

The lead boosted to 3-0 in the third inning as
Kennedy Buckman doubled into left-center to score Brink who had reached base via a walk.Â

In the fourth inning, Desi Cueavas doubled into left-center to clear the bases of Cain and
Liz Dierks.Â

The final run of the game came courtesy of the long ball as Buckman belted her second home run of 2024, clearing the left-center field fence in the seventh inning.Â

In all, the Vikings totaled a season-high 10 hits with a 3-for-4 effort from Buckman. Cuevas and Dierks each recorded two hits.Â

Game Two:Â Arkansas Monticello 5, Augustana 2
The home team jumped on the scoreboard with a run in each of the first two innings. The Vikings then knotted things up at 2-2 in the top of the third.
Liz Dierks drew a walk and was pushed to second base on a single by
Andrea Cain.

The duo then scored on a
Gracey Brink double into left-center field.
Â
The go-ahead run for Arkansas at Monticello came in the bottom of the fifth inning by piecing together timely hitting. The Blossoms then tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning for the final 5-2 score.

Augustana recorded six hits in the contest with two from
Ashton Dorman. The remaining four hits came from four different spots in AU's lineup.

Hailey Houston started the contest, pitching an inning and striking out two.
Ella Cooper was charged with the loss with 4.1 innings tossed and striking out three.

Augustana returns to action Feb. 23-25 at the Washburn Invite. The Vikings will face six region foes beginning Friday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. against Missouri Western in Topeka, Kansas.Â
