SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The No. 13 AU acrobatics and tumbling team heads down to the Lone Star State with a tri-meet on Saturday against Mary Hardin-Baylor and East Stroudsburg. The event takes place in Belton, Texas, starting at 6 p.m. Then the Vikings have a quick turnaround as they head to Marshall, Texas, on Monday to compete in a dual against East Texas Baptist University which is set to begin at 5 p.m.
This will be the first time that the Vikings compete against any of the three teams.

About the Crusaders
The No. 11 MHBU Crusaders are currently 2-1 on the season with the loss being in the season opening to No. 1 Baylor 272.465-279.870. The Crusaders then went on to defeat East Texas Baptist University and Texas Lutheran University, both NCAA Division III teams. Currently, MHBU averages 266.315 points per meet with a program-high score of 272.465 in the loss to Baylor.
About the Warriors
East Stroudsburg has already competed twice this week in Texas with a win over East Texas Baptist, 252.920-227.565, and following with a win over Texas Lutheran, 245.745-223.750. Currently, the Warriors are 3-2 on the year and are riding a three-meet win streak. During the competition against East Texas Baptist, ESU scored a program record in the compulsory event with 36.35 points and a new record in the tumbling event of 48.500 points.
About the Tigers
The East Texas Baptist Tigers are 1-2 on the season with a win over Texas Lutheran, 219.119-179.380. Most recently, the Tigers fell to both the Crusaders and the Warriors. During the meet against East Stroudsburg the Tigers received their best team score of the season with a 227.565.
About the Vikings
Augustana has started its season with two wins, defeating both Saint Leo University, 256.430-251.190, and Concordia (Wis.), 252.770-225.410. During the season, the Vikings have taken 10 total events and 33 heats to ride to the unblemished record..
Against Concordia (Wis.), AU scored 35.800 in the compulsory event and a 24.750 in the acro event. Augustana went on to score 27.850 points in the pyramid, 26.600 points in the toss, 52.550 points in the tumbling event and closing out the night with 85.220 in the team event.
When combined with last season, Augustana is riding a six-meet winning streak.
One Last Thing
Saturday's competition will be the second tri-meet AU has competed in since the inception of the program in 2023.. Following this weekend's trip to the Lone Star State, the Vikings will welcome No. 1, and seven-time defending national champion, Baylor University to Sioux Falls for a dual meet March 23. The meet starts at 6 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
