SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana head softball coach Gretta Melsted will be looking to win game No. 800 this weekend as the Vikings travel to Winona State on Saturday and Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday. Melsted owns 799 wins entering the weekend.
 
First pitch on Saturday is slated for 1 p.m. while Sunday's doubleheader has a noon start.

About the Warriors
Winona State 28-16 on the season and 12-6 in the NSIC. The Warriors are coming off two-straight splits with a 9-6 win and 5-2 loss at Minot State. This past Thursday, WSU fell 2-1 at Minnesota State before bouncing back with a 4-0 win in the nightcap.
 
Abbie Hlas leads the team with a .401 average with 15 doubles leading to a 1.014 OPS. She has a team-best 61 hits. Sam Keller leads the way with five home runs but it is Carly Engelhardt who leads the team with 36 RBI.
 
Izzy Howe leads Winona State with an 11-5 record and 2.57 ERA. In 101.2 innings pitched and 108 strikeouts.
 
About the Golden Bears
Concordia-St. Paul is in second place of the NSIC with its 16-2 league record while sitting at 34-8 in 2024. The Golden Bears dropped their first NSIC games of the season in a sweep by Minot State in scores of 2-1 and 7-5. CSP then bounced back with an 8-0 win and 4-1 victory over UMary.
 
Alexis Monty ranks second in the nation with her .535 average while hitting 19 doubles, two triples and two home runs as part of her 77 hits. Danni Sharum and Alexus Houston each have hit five home runs to lead CSP while Sharum owns a team-high 39 RBI.
 
Erica McCullough is 21-3 in the circle while pitching to a 2.78 ERA. She has 18 complete games in her 153.2 innings pitched while striking out 104 batters.
 
About the Vikings
Augustana is 36-13 on the year and 21-1 in the NSIC. A weekend sweep would give the Vikings their fourth-straight NSIC Championship. AU is coming off a sweep of Wayne State by scores of 8-0 and 16-2.
 
Augustana has six batters hitting .400 or better in NSIC action while Desi Cuevas is hitting .460 for the entire year. Gracey Brink holds a .516 average with a 1.595 OPS in her 23 NSIC games. Torri Chute has belted 15 home runs with a team-high 56 RBI.
 
Grace Glanzer, the nation's leader in WHIP and fourth in ERA, is 17-3 on the season with 141 strikeouts in 138 innings pitched. Her ERA is at .071 while her WHIP is at .66. Lexi Lander is 11-5 with a 2.31 ERA.
