SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana softball team saw five student-athletes picked to the D2CCA All-Central Region Softball Teams.
Grace Glanzer was named Pitcher of the Year and was joined on the first team with
Gracey Brink and
Torri Chute.
Andrea Cain earned second-team honors.
The NSIC had nine members chosen to the teams with Augustana taking four of those spots. As first team honorees, Glanzer, Brink and Chute advance to the D2CCA All-America ballot.
Glanzer, the NSIC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year holds an ERA of .59 in 201 innings pitched. She holds a record of 26-3 and has pitched 25 complete games.
Brink, the NSIC Player of the Year, has a batting average of .406 and has homered 14 times this season. She has driven in 45 runs and has crossed the plate 56 times.
Chute makes her fourth appearance on the All-Region team after 17 home runs and a batting average of .361. She holds a career program record of 251 RBIs and a career slugging percentage of .724.
Cain has been a force at the plate with 77 hits and 58 RBIs. She holds a fielding percentage of 1.000 with multiple web gems throughout the season.
Augustana sets its sights on the NCAA Super Regional as it faces Roger State in a best-of-three with games slated for Tuesday and Wednesday. The winner of the Super Regional will advance to the College World Series in Orlando, Florida on May 19-25.
