LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Desi Cuevas of Augustana softball has been named a TUCCI/NFCA DII Freshman of the Year Finalist, selected by the Association's Division II All-America Committee Wednesday afternoon. 

Cuevas has collected multiple awards this season being named NFCA First Team All-Region, NSIC All-Conference First Team and NSIC All-Conference Defensive Team. She hit for a .424 batting average and had an OPS of 1.138. In 210 at-bats, she has collected 89 hits, 41 RBIs and has homered nine times. 

She is the third Viking in program history to be honored as a finalist. The eight finalists each represent their respective regions.
