SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana women's tennis hits the road for the first round of the NCAA Central Regionals. The Vikings will face No. 4 Northwest Missouri on Friday at noon. The winner of Friday's match will face the No. 1 seed Nebraska Kearney on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Augustana went 18-4 this season and won its 13th consecutive NSIC Championship to receive the automatic bid.
Preliminary rounds will be played May 10-11 at 16 regional sites. The winning team from each site will advance to the finals, May 20-24, in Orlando, Florida. Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will serve as hosts.
The Vikings
Augustana had a perfect 9-0 record in conference play this season and ran through the NSIC tournament on 4-0, 4-0, 4-0 wins.
Florentia Hadjigeorgiou compiled a record of 12-4 record from the No. 1 slot and faced multiple ranked opponents throughout the Spring.
Aleksandra Kistanova holds a record of 15-2 from the No. 3 slot.
Senem Ocal is 17-3 coming into the weekend and
Gabriela Jancikova is 15-4.
In Augustana's last regular season match, it fell to Northwest Missouri 4-3. The Vikings scored two ranked wins this season as it beat then No. 15 Nebraska Kearney and then No. 7 Lubbock Christian.
