Â
VS. WESTMINSTER

Â
Back-to-back kills from Franke combined with an ace from Tims made it an early 5-2 lead for the Vikings to open set one. An 8-2 run from Westminster tightened the score, but it was a series of unanswered Augustana points that helped regain control. The Griffins clawed to close the gap, tying the game at 20, until a strong Vikings offensive ended the set at 25-22. Â
Â
To start the second set, Augustana went on a 6-1 run in response to six straight points from Westminster. With a one-point lead, the Griffins again went on numerous runs to keep the Vikings at bay, pushing the difference to seven. Augustana attempted to climb back until the set ended 25-19 in favors of Westminster.
Â
After tying it up at 6-6, Augustana went on a dominant eight-point run to take a 14-8 lead. Westminster quickly responded with their own unanswered streak to cut it to a one-point difference, but the Vikings attack was relentless and immediately fought back to fend off any response.
Brooke Berens, Franke and
Maya Wente helped push the lead and it was a kill from Jansen that closed it, 25-21.
Â
The Griffins were up 5-3 early in the fourth set until seven straight points from the Vikings helped regain control and a five-point lead. Westminster cut it down to three but Augustana quickly went on another run to make it 17-10. The Griffins wouldn't go away quietly, as they attempted a comeback, but
Ellie Walker and Jansen combined to end the match with a 25-18 victory.

Â
An exchange of 5-2 runs made it an early 11-9 lead for the Vikings in set two. Errors from the Eagles helped Augustana further the separation between the teams, but Biola again fought back to make it a one-point game at 16-15. Competition remained close—with a fluctuation of one to two points—until the Vikings scored the final four points to take it 25-19.
