BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Avery Nelson of Augustana women's soccer was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Vikings secure wins over Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State.

#15 Avery Nelson (D, 5-10, Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D. / Lincoln HS) 
- Played back-to-back full 90 minute matches on defense
- Blocked a potential game-tying shot in the 90th minute in Friday's 1-0 win over USF
- Tallied five shots on the weekend and helped Augustana to two clean sheets
- Held opponents to 13 shots with only seven on goal
