KENOSHA, Wis. - The Augustana men's cross country program finished another resurgent season at the NCAA Championships, placing 23rd as a team after entering as the 27th ranked team in the country.
Kadin Groen paced the Viking men with his 70th place finish while covering the course in 31:13.2. He was steady throughout, spending most of the race in the top 70 before closing in at 70.
Isaiah Anderson started slow, sitting at 116 through the first kilometer, but steadily rose reaching as high as 98 at the 8k mark before finishing the race at 102 with a time of 31.41.3.
Peyton Willbanks finished 142nd with a time of 32:08.9 to rank third among the Vikings.
A pair of freshmen closed out the top-five for the Vikings, starting with
Alex Schumacher. In his first NCAA Championship race, Schumacher was consistent throughout, eventually finishing 160th.
Bryant Keller opened the first 1K in 29th place before a 169th place finish.
