Viking Acrobatics & Tumbling Closes West Coast Trip With Convincing Ranked Win

Honolulu, Hawaii – The No. 11 Augustana acrobatics & tumbling team wrapped up its west coast road trip with its third consecutive ranked victory, knocking off No. 12 Hawaii Pacific 265.590-245.505 on Thursday night in the Shark Tank.

- The win is the third over a ranked opponent in program history and third in as many competitions.
- The 20.085 margin of victory was the second largest of the season and largest among meets where the opponent competed in every event. 
- The Vikings opened the night by matching its compulsory event point total from Monday, putting them in front by .15 through one event.
- In the acro event, Augustana posted nearly an extra point higher than it did on Monday, sharpening up its 7 Element to add to the lead.
- The Vikings posted another high score in the pyramid, collecting a point total of 29.100 to keep a lead into halftime. 
- Augustana added on 28.600 points in the toss, edging out Hawaii Pacific by 2.150 and recording the second highest total in program history. 
- The Vikings won the tumbling event by nearly two points after improving off Monday's competition.
- The Vikings closed the night with a +11.710 margin after dazzling in the team event. 
- This was Augustana's 15th win in program history.

The Vikings will take more than two weeks off, returning to action against Concordia-Wisconsin on Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m., inside the Elmen Center.
