Augustana Prepped for Golden Bears and Warriors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In its final weekend of regular season action on home turf, No. 12 Augustana softball is set to host Concordia-St. Paul on Friday and Winona State on Saturday, with doubleheader action beginning at 12 p.m. on both days.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN BEARS
Concordia-St. Paul holds a 21-24 overall record with a 13-7 NSIC showing so far this season after sweeping UMary (4-0 and 7-3) and Minot State (5-3 and 6-5) last weekend.
 
Sydney Pelzer is currently batting .402 with a team-high 12 homeruns, 51 hits and 53 RBI. Alexis Monty adds in a .356 average alongside 26 RBI, five homers and 10 doubles. Rachel Novak sits with 19 stolen bases and Ava Blake has drawn 16 walks.
 
Leading in the circle is Emmy Bowne, whose 8-9 overall record has led to a 3.57 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 106.0 innings pitched. Tatum Dunlavy has seen 97.0 innings of action with a team-high 49 strikeouts in 10 complete games.
 
ABOUT THE WARRIORS
Following 6-2 and 9-1 losses to Minot State and 2-1 and 8-0 wins over UMary just a weekend ago, Winona State is 34-11 on the year while going 15-5 in conference play.
 
Sam Keller is swinging strong with a .438 batting average to go with her 16 doubles and 33 walks. Braelee Jodarski has smashed 16 homeruns alongside her 47 RBI while Kiley Slaats sits with 13 stolen bases and Indigo Fish tallied 57 hits.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Augustana holds the all-time advantage against the Golden Bears with a 37-8 series lead, most recently collecting 3-0 and 7-2 wins on April 21, 2024. Against the Warriors, the Vikings are 33-25 historically while taking 11-8 and 11-1 wins on April 20, 2024.
 
ABOUT THE VIKINGS
After sweeping Minnesota Crookston (12-1 and 2-0) and Bemidji State (8-2 and 4-2) on home turf last weekend, the Vikings are 37-9 overall and 19-3 in conference play.
 
Desi Cuevas holds a .384 batting average with 56 hits to go with her 39 RBI, 19 stolen bases and 10 homeruns. Andrea Cain holds a slash line of .360/.476/.712 while adding in 50 hits, 31 RBI, 27 walks, 13 doubles and eight homers and Stella Harber is right behind with a .346 average, 26 RBI and 37 hits.
 
In 153.2 innings of work, Grace Glanzer has collected 170 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .204 batting average. She's 18-6 in her 24 appearances and maintains a 1.23 ERA—which leads the NSIC—and a .90 WHIP. Lexi Lander is 16-3 on the season in 22 appearances, striking out 110 batters in 109.0 innings with an ERA of 1.48 and opponent batting average of .208.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Augustana will hit the road for its final conference matchup of the season, facing Minnesota State on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 1 p.m.
