Men’s Golf Wins Augustana Spring Invitational

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana men's golf finished its Spring Invitational as two different groups squared off against 10 different schools. Will Allen continued his strong season as he finished in first place. As a team, the Vikings won with the "A team" and came in ninth with the "B team".

How it Happened
  • Allen secured first place with back-to-back rounds of 71 for a total stroke count of 142. He shot two under on both days. Allen tapped in seven birdies throughout the invitational.
  • Jacob Stewart shot a combined stroke count of 143 and finished in second. Stewart shot three-under par on day two with three birdies and one eagle. He finished the invitational with seven total birdies.
  • Kaiden Brovold finished in a tie for 18th after he shot rounds of 76 and 75 for a total stroke count of 151. He secured four birdies throughout two rounds.
  • Emmet Hansen tore up the course on day two with a second day round of 71 with three birdies. He finished in a tie for 18th with a total stroke count of 151.
  • Henry Hartquist rounded out the A team with a 42nd-place finish after he shot a total stroke count of 160.
  • Jimmy Mendel closed out the invitational in a tie for 38th after he tallied a stroke count of 158 after back-to-back rounds of 79. 
  • Jackson Skuodas finished second for the B team in a tie for 49th after he shot a total count of 165 after rounds of 83 and 82. 
  • Blake Northagen finished in a tie for 53rd with a score of 167. Northagen finished with rounds of 81 and 86.
  • Chase McDonald and Zach Stanz finished the tournament in a tie for 55th with stroke counts of 168.
Up Next
Augustana shifts its attention to the NSIC Championships set to begin on April 17 in Kansas City, Missouri. The three-day tournament concludes on April 19.
