HAYS, Kan. – The Augustana soccer team downed Fort Hays State Friday night under the lights by a score of 1-0.
Madelyn White booted in the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute off a pass from
Ally Hamski to help move the Vikings to 2-0-1 on the young season.
After a quiet first half, Augustana wasted no time in controlling the second half as the Vikings recorded four shots within the first 20 minutes of play. White's goal came off a dish from Hamski that helped put AU in the driver's seat and pull away with the win.
Taya Baker recorded three saves in Friday's win while
Makenzie Nelson led the offense with four shots off the bench.

Augustana takes the remainder of the weekend off and sets its sights on conference play next weekend as it hits the road to take on MSU Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston. The Vikings play the Dragons on Friday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. and close out the weekend Sunday against the Golden Eagles at 1 p.m.
