SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana hockey kicks off its 2026-27 season Saturday night with a stand-alone exhibition game in Grand Forks, North Dakota, at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Augustana and North Dakota faced off against each other in the 2024-25 season during exhibition play, where the Vikings downed the Fighting Hawks.

The Fighting Hawks
North Dakota finished the 2025-26 season with a record of 29-10-1, with a home record of 15-5-1. The Fighting Hawks reached the Frozen Four before falling to Wisconsin by a score of 2-1. They open up the 2026-27 season with a preseason national ranking of No. 4 in both the USA Hockey and USCHO polls.

The Vikings
Augustana enters its fourth season of NCAA Division I hockey following the best season in program history. The Vikings finished 22-11-4 in 2025-26 and placed third in the CCHA with a 14-8-4 conference record. Augustana also posted a 16-2-3 mark at Midco Arena.

Head coach Garrett Raboin has announced nine new Vikings ahead of the 2026-27 season. Augustana will roster 29 players for its fourth season in program history, with the incoming class consisting of two defensemen, four forwards, and three goalies.

The 2026-27 incoming class brings a program first to Augustana hockey. Belarusians Matsvei and Siamion Marshchanok become the first set of twins in program history to join the Vikings. They join Hayden and Tyler Hennen as the second set of brothers to join Augustana.

Augustana defenseman Maxwell Chakrabarti and goaltender Mathis Langevin earned opportunities to attend NHL development camps during the offseason. The experience gives the Vikings another connection to the professional hockey world as both players continue their development heading into the 2026-27 season.
