SHAWNEE, Kan. – Augustana closed out its time at the Top Gun College Invitational on Saturday, falling 12-10 in eight innings to Rogers State before dropping an 8-7 decision to Quincy later in the day.

Ashley Cain had three hits, including a three-run home run and drove in three, while
Norah Christiansen went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and four RBI to lead the Viking offense. Brooke Lee added four hits and an RBI as Augustana piled up 16 hits in the setback. Halee Krage (1-3) took the loss after tossing five innings with five strikeouts, while Jayden Garcia worked in relief.
After Cain flied out to open the game,
Desi Cuevas doubled down the left-field line and later scored on a Rogers State fielding error to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Christiansen pushed the advantage to 2-0 in the second inning, blasting a solo home run to center field.
Rogers State answered in the third with a three-run home run to take its first lead of the game at 3-2, but the Vikings responded with a six-run fourth inning to swing momentum back in their favor.
Lee singled to start the rally before Cain launched a three-run shot to center to make it 4-3. Later in the inning, Christiansen ripped a three-RBI double to right center, scoring three more runs, and Lee added an RBI single as Augustana surged ahead 8-3.
The Vikings added two more in the fifth as Cain doubled and came home on a
Claire Wynja single. Wynja later scored on a
Kierra Lubovich base hit to stretch the lead to 10-3.
Rogers State chipped away in the sixth inning, plating seven runs highlighted by a grand slam to even the score at 10-10. Neither side scored in the seventh, sending the game to extras.
In the eighth, Rogers State capitalized on the tiebreaker, delivering a two-run home run to secure the 12-10 victory.Â
Quincy 8, Augustana 7
