With the win, the Vikings advance to take on host Pittsburg State at 6 p.m., on Friday afternoon. Augustana will serve as the home team in the contest. The winner will advance to the sub-region final.

Lundquist finished the night with three hits and four RBI, including the difference-making double and a two-run go-ahead triple in the eighth inning. Brandon Weigel also added three hits and two RBI while Troy Berg had two hits and scored three times. Kobe Eikmeier also scored three runs and had a walk while blasting a three-run home run.

Mariano Gomez allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out two in 2 2/3 innings of work to start the game. Josiah Petersen followed with 2 1/3 innings of one-run ball while striking out four.

Ryan Clementi went 3 1/3 strong, allowing an unearned run and three hits while getting a pair of strikeouts. He was lifted with one out in the ninth for Adam Diedrich, who recorded the final five outs and allowed a pair of unearned runs for his first win of the season.

Weigel led the game off with a single and Carter Heinsch got one with one out in the frame to get a pair on. After a fielder's choice, Berg opened the scoring with a two-out, two-run triple to give the Vikings a 2-0 lead.

The Bearcats followed with two in the bottom of the inning and three more in the second to take a lead. With two outs in the third, Ragan Pinnow and Berg walked before Kobe Eikmeier lifted a three-run blast to left center, evening the score at 5-5.

A run in the third and another in the fourth allowed Northwest to grow a 7-5 lead. That would hold until the eighth. Nate Soelter led off with a double before coming around on a pair of groundouts to cut the deficit to one run. Berg restarted the rally with a single and moved to second on a walk.

Eikmeier drew a walk that would finally send the Bearcats to the pen and then, with two strikes, Lundquist drilled a two-run triple to the left-center gap to give the Vikings another lead at 8-7. Northwest would score on an unearned run with two outs in the bottom of eighth to tie the game at 8-8. Both teams would leave a runner in scoring position in the ninth to send the game to extras.

Pinnow and Berg walked to lead off the 10th inning and Eikmeier reached on a fielder's choice while Berg got to second. After a double steal put both in scoring position, Lundquist delivered his second high-leverage extra base hit of the afternoon, scoring both on a ground-rule double to make it 10-8.

The Vikings didn't stop there as Lind would reach on a walk and him and Lundquist both moved into scoring position on a ground out. With two outs, Weigel dumped a single into shallow right field to score the pair, proving to be the difference as the Bearcats hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the tenth with two outs to bring the game to its final score.
