BEMIDJI, MINN. — Augustana lost to Bemidji State 2-0 on Sunday. The Vikings were held scoreless despite a 20-10 shot advantage and six shots on goal.
Grace Katter led Augustana with seven shots, including one on goal.
Linnea Larson played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with four saves.
Madelyn White recorded three shots and put one on frame.
Larson handled the Beavers' early pressure, saving shots in the 5th and 7th minutes after the Beavers earned a corner kick in the 1st minute. Augustana pushed forward from there, getting attempts from
Avery Heinz, Katter, and
Paige Bracker before Katter forced Payton Kropp into a save in the 20th minute during a stretch. The Beavers answered with their own run of chances, taking three shots and two corner kicks between the 23rd and 26th minutes, but the Vikings kept the match scoreless. The closing minutes turned more physical, with several fouls on both sides and Larson saving Olivia Seurer's shot in the 41st minute before the first half ended 0-0.
Katter created Augustana's first second-half look with a shot in the 50th minute, but the Beavers went ahead 1-0 in the 51st minute. Larson saved a Meredith Paar shot in the 62nd minute before the Beavers earned a corner, and Grace Schwoch scored off an Ella Wade assist in the 62nd minute to make it 2-0. Augustana generated a stretch of chances after that, with
Anabel Hillstrom putting a shot on frame,
Marie Horsted and
Delaney Awe forcing saves, and a corner kick coming in the 74th minute. The late push continued with saved shots from White and
Addison Burt around an 85th-minute corner, but the Beavers kept Augustana off the board and finished the match with a 2-0 win.
